There's no place like home to recoup and recover and we applaud the difficult but important decision made by our Olympian Luuka Jones. Like many other sports we have had to navigate a covid world of cancelled events, no international travel, closed training venues, traffic lights, vaccination policies and ultimately the contraction of Covid19.

This week Luuka shared her story on social media about her decision to return home from Europe to giver herself the best opportunity to recover from Long Covid and get back to what she loves doing most. We know Luuka has a great support network of family, friends, a High Performance Sport New Zealand team of experts and a canoe slalom community both here in NZ and internationally that will rally around to support her journey.
