Canoe Slalom NZ has appointed Aaron Osborne as coach for Finn Butcher leading into the LA2028 Olympic cycle, building on the strong foundations laid in the lead-up to the Paris Olympic Games.
Osborne supported Butcher throughout the final stages of his Paris 2024 campaign, where Finn secured an Olympic gold in Kayak Cross. The pair will now turn their attention to the next four-year cycle, with the goal of consistently competing at the highest level on the international stage.
Osborne brings experience from his previous roles with Canoe Slalom New Zealand and current role with Canoe Racing New Zealand which will provide a key partnership as Butcher continues his Olympic journey.
"Aaron's knowledge of the sport, along with the partnership he and Finn have built through the Paris campaign, make this an exciting opportunity as we set our sights on LA2028" commented Canoe Slalom GM, Pandora Fruean.
